- and our HCTV dream team
Brazil’s first Web TV platform
In early 2002, I had to publish a video online for the first time. Macromedia Flash made the task possible, and I got very excited about the possibility of creating a web TV channel.
In 2003 we wrote a business plan, and introduced it to some entrepreneurs and incubators in Brazil. We got the same response over and over: “It's impossible to publish videos with good quality on the Web.” besides being denied by investors and incubators, Fernando and Dino left the company.
Even with the constraints, I continued my research. In November 2006 Google bought Youtube, my life changed. I got some calls from potential investors. In February 2007, I received the first investment, hired two web developers and began to develop the project.
At the end of 2007, the product was ready to go to the market. Our first client was Hospital das Clínicas – SP, the largest public hospital and health research center in Latin America. We created the project: HCTV.
Finally, in 2012, after implementing the platform for four more companies, we closed a deal to sell it to a Brazilian advertisement holding.
In September 2012 we shut down Elumina, allowing each one of us to focus on long-due solo projects.
Fate wanted, Tatiana Bastos and I met again, this time in Berlin, Germany. We decided to use Elumina's logo and rebrand the company Elumina to blog about graphic and web design.
