The Dell P2715Q is a great 4k monitor, I have been using it together with my beloved Macbook Pro 15” mid-2014 and I love it!

But there’s something annoying: It does not wake up from sleep mode when my laptop does. It looks like the same happens with the 24” model (P2415Q), for Windows and Mac users.

How to fix Dell P2715Q

Here I’m going to share 3 simple steps that worked for me with my Macbook Pro. If you are using Windows, this hack may not solve your problem.

  • Step 1: Click any of the right side buttons on your monitor to access the display’s menu
  • Step 2: Go to “Menu” -> “Others”
  • Step 3: Disable DCC/CI

That’s it! Simple isn’t it? If this hack doesn’t solve your problem – please share it with me, and I will try to help.

If you are looking for an affordable 4k display, whether you are a designer or not, I definitely recommend the Dell P2715Q and P2415Q line.

They cost less than 600 bucks, and worths every penny you pay!

this is not working for P2715Q

    • Try to use your monitor on MST mode. Follow step 1 above, Go to “Menu” -> “Display” you will find MST -> choose “Primary”.

this will put the panel in 30Hz refresh

        • That’s true @hanvanvilsteren:disqus , but unfortunately for many cases including mine – it’s the only way to use this monitor with an older Macbook Pro runing MacOS Sierra.
